A complete selection of specialized chemistries for coagulation, flocculation and hydrocarbon absorption:
Coagulation and Flocculation
Coagulation implies breaking up the stability of charges present in a given wastewater stream, forming what is called a pin-floc, a tiny particulate barely visible to the eye. Flocculation is the creation of bridging links between pin-flocs obtained by the previous coagulation step, resulting in larger particulates that can settle or float faster and more efficiently. Both steps are pH sensitive, therefore ph conditions should be created in a given treatment process.
Magnus features the POLYMAG
® and CIBA product lines:
-
Acids and alkaline agents for pH control
-
Inorganic coagulants
-
Organic coagulants
-
Custom-blended coagulants
-
Anionic, cationic and non-ionic polymers, in the form of powder, liquid or emulsion.
Hydrocarbon absorption
Magnus has developed a treatment approach to remove hydrocarbon-based oils (C10-C50), using a specialized absorption media called
SmartSponge®. It has the ability to capture up to 3 times its weight, and does not leach out any oil once saturated. This technology is ideal for removing oils present in wastewater that originate from motor oil, heating oil, kerosene and other fuels.
Applications are numerous and not limited to:
-
Pre-treatment of clarifier or DAF systems.
-
Industrial process, cutting and metal working fluids.
-
Strom water runoff and gray-water treatment for re-use.
-
Spill containment
Magnus is the exclusive Canadian distributor of
Abtech Industries’ SmartSponge
